Have a very
"Reasonable" Christmas
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior,
which is Christ the Lord. - Lu 2:11
-
Don't go into
debt buying gifts for people, (Romans 13:8).
-
Don't get caught
up in the consumerism of this holiday (1 John 2:15).
-
Don't turn the
holiday into an occasion for self indulgence
(Philippians 2:4).
-
Remember that the
wise men gave gifts to Christ - they didn't have a
gift exchange with each other, (Matthew 2:11).
-
Try to imagine
what it was for the Creator of the universe to humble
Himself and become a little baby (Matthew 1:18).
-
Do what the wise
men did when they found Christ, they worshipped Him
(Matthew 2:11).
-
Give
consideration to the fact that Christ came into the world,
not to "be an example" for us - but to die for sinners,
(Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 2:24).
-
Ask yourself
whether He is YOUR Savior, and
if He is not, make this Christmas the beginning of a new
life in Christ, (2 Corinthians 5:17).

world" John 8:12
